What Is a Sandshrew?

The sandshrew is a small rodent-like mammal belonging to the family Muridae, specifically adapted to arid environments. Native to sandy deserts across North Africa and the Middle East, these shrews have evolved specialized traits to cope with scorching temperatures, limited water sources, and shifting dunes.
